Amazon Echo Pop Setup
First of all, we need to download the Alexa application as we do on other Echo Dot devices. Download the application from your mobile phone and open it. If you have never used a device that connects to Alexa before, you need to create a new Amazon account. Enter the requested information and create the account by granting the necessary permissions to the mobile application.
Power Up the Device: Plug in the Echo Pop using the provided power adapter into a power outlet. Once connected, the device will automatically power on. The light ring on the top of the device should start circling in blue, indicating it’s in setup mode.
Add Device:
- Tap the ‘Devices’ icon at the bottom right corner of the Alexa app.
- Tap the ‘+’ sign to add a new device.
- Select ‘Amazon Echo’ as the device type you want to set up.
Location selection: I think positioning is very important when installing your Echo Pop speakers. If you think that you can carry it with you because it is small and portable, there is no need for this for home use. Since you can already control the device via the Alexa app, you should position your device where you can get the most appropriate sound. For example, it could be the kitchen counter or the coffee table next to the sofa you sit in the living room. Because it is a smart home system, you will give voice commands to the speakers. In other words, it should be in a position where you can easily receive your commands and in an open area where you can hear the music you listen to from anywhere.
Connect to Wi-Fi:
Follow the on-screen instructions in the Alexa app to connect the Echo Pop speaker to your Wi-Fi network. You’ll need to select your Wi-Fi network and enter the password when prompted.
Wait for Alexa Setup:
- The app will now attempt to connect your Echo POP to your Wi-Fi network. It might take a couple of minutes.
- Once connected, the Alexa app will confirm the successful setup.
Complete Setup:
Follow the additional instructions in the Alexa app to complete the setup process. You can now start using your Echo Pop speaker by giving voice commands. Use the wake word “Alexa” followed by your command or question to activate the Echo device. For example, “Alexa, what’s the weather like today?” say. To get current weather forecasts.
How to reset your Echo Pop compact speaker
To fix the problems you are experiencing on your device, first turn off your device and restart it. Then try unplugging the power cord and plugging it back in. If you need to reset, you should save this option for last as all your data will be lost.
Press and hold the Volume down and Microphone mute buttons for 25 seconds. When the blue light bar activates again and starts making a circular movement, the reset is completed and your device is ready for reinstallation.
